TAKE NOTICE THAT THE COMMISSIONERS COURT OF NEWTON COUNTY WILL MEET IN REGULAR SESSION AT THE IRIS & ANNIE HOWARD CIVIC CENTER IN THE CITY OF NEWTON ON THE 14TH DAY OF JANUARY, 2009 AT 10:00 A.M.

Invocation
DELIBERATE AND CONSIDER ACTION ON THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:

1. Minutes of previous Commissioners’ Court meetings.
2. Departmental reports.
3. Union Gas application for a pipeline crossing in Precinct 1.
4. Newton County History Center to submit names of the Newton County Historical Commission appointees.
5. Reappointment of the Newton County Library Board members.
6. Newton County Child Welfare Board appointment of members.
7. Budget amendment for Sheriff Department.
8. Architect Marcel Quimby to present Change Proposal #12 with regard to the Courthouse Restoration Project (regarding removing and replacing steel beams)
9. Architect Marcel Quimby to present Change Proposal #13 with regard to the Courthouse Restoration Project (regarding TVSS electrical requirement)
10. Architect Marcel Quimby to present Change proposal #14 with regard to the Courthouse Restoration Project (regarding apoxy coating for bell tower)
11. Newton County Investment Policy.
12. Authorize to establish direct deposit for employee payroll.
13. Fill vacancy on Board of Directors for the Newton County Public Facility Corporation.
14. Discuss needed maintenance repairs at the Newton County Correctional Center.
15. Temporary recess from Commissioners’ Court meeting to convene to Notice of Public Meeting for the Newton County Public Facility Corporation.
16. Payment of bills.
17. Other business.
18. Adjourn.

Pursuant to the authority granted under Government Code, Chap. 551 Commissioners’ Court may convene a closed session to discuss any of the above agenda items. Immediately before any closed session, the specific section or sections of Government Code, Chap. 551 that provide statutory authority will be announced.
